Cornavirus !

Since the last time blogging, things got worst. The past week even though it was a schedule school week, the school was closed during the whole week. I have been on quarantine for the past week, with my family. The whole week. I haven't had physical contact with friends especially my partner. The reason why is because it was required that we self-quarantine like I previously mentioned. The CDC believed that if people self-quarantine it will help stop the spread of the virus. Due to these precautions that were recommended I haven't left my house as mentioned. The Coronavirus really played a negative impact on my final task. However, I will persevere and turn in the best final project I can produce. My final project all though halted is only almost completed.

Due to the Coronavirus, my project was halted like previously mentioned. Due to the fact that I haven't left the house due to self-quarantine, I haven't had contact with my partner. I mention this in my previous blog, but the lack of contact has left me unable to finish editing. The editing process is usually done by both of us. However, since we have not been able to see each other we haven't edited. Although we haven't seen each other, I set up a date for us to meet. The Coronavirus also affected my project by not being able to go to school. To further explain not being able to go to school doesn't allow me to get the advice of my teachers. However, my teacher has set up communications so we can get advice. The Coronavirus also ruined my reshoot and reediting schedule. Before my partner and I were supposed to reshoot Wednesday but instead, we have to do it Saturday. All in all the Cornavirus has really impacted my final

Editing Is a No Go!

Since the last time being on the blog, I haven't edited my final project. There are various reasons why I haven't edited the final task. The main reason why I have done it is because of social distancing. To further explain after the coronavirus pandemic. It was decided best by the government that people practice social distancing. Social distancing is the perceived or desired degree of remoteness between a member of one social group and the members of another, as evidenced in the level of intimacy tolerated between them. So in the practice of social distancing, I have self quarantined. This practice of social distancing has ultimately affected my editing process. The reason why it has affected my editing process is that I haven't been able to get in touch with my partner. To further explain even though I primarily edited my partner put in a lot of input. Due to the quartine, we haven't been able to meet up and discuss.

However, even though we haven't met up to discuss we have also been very productive as a partnership. We have created a schedule on when we are going to turn in our final task. My partner and I also created a schedule detailing are re-shoot and re-edit days. Due to the quarantine, we haven't been able to meet up. This caused us to miss the original day that we were going to film. The original day that we were going to re-shoot was last Saturday however we have changed it to this Wednesday. Even though we haven't finished our final task we planned out how the CCR will be done. I have decided to present the CCR in an interview style. I will interview my partner and she will interview me. We will film using our local library. All in all, even though we haven't finished the final task I have been productive.

Editing Did Not Take Place Today Blog !

Since the last time I have posted on this blog, I haven't edited. The reason why I haven't a blog is for various reasons. One of the primary reasons why I didn't edit is that I lack the time to edit. For the past few days, I have been extremely busy working on other projects. This lead to me not being able to complete the editing. Even though I didn't edit today a majority was previously done in previous nights. The editing that I did included sound, transition and more. Even though a majority is done there is still a lot to get done. All in all, I'm really confident in the place that I am in even though I haven't edited in the past few days.

Though I didn't edit I have been planning the steps that I am going to take while editing. To further explain my partner and I have created a list of certain things I will add during the editing process. The list included transition like a cutaway. The list also included sound effects that would be added. As well as the brightness of each scene. Beside just editing my partner and I planed when we will reshoot. We decided on this Sunday at 9:00 am at the same place we previously recorded at. We also decided on what scenes we are reshooting. The main scene being reshoot is the stabbing scenes. My partner and I decided to change the props. Instead of scissors, we will use a knife. All in all, even though editing didn't take place today was extremely productive.

Editing Blog

Today I edited my final task. To further explain after the peer review and receiving some comments my partner and I decided to edit. However, though we didn't edit the entire film. The parts that I edited were the more perfect shots. The perfect shots were the ones that didn't I believe they needed reshooting. This also includes shots that were easy to film. Examples of the more perfect shots were those of the businesswoman getting ready. There were easy because they're only shown for a few seconds in the final task. Due to the fact they were not long scenes the actual day my partner and I filmed, we filmed multiple shots of those scenes. That lead to us having multiple shots so that we didn't have to reshoot those scenes. However, we did edit those scenes and placed them at the beginning of the film. The type of editing that took place we minimal. the major changes were the sound I added music. Even then the filming was still minor because the shots were perfect. Most of the titles were added to the film.

Even though the majority of the editing process went well there were some issues. The issues that occurred didn't mostly happen while editing but the opposite. The issues occurred with my actual computer. While trying to dump my footage my computer wouldn't accept the videos. It took me multiple to tries to dump the footage. After 30 minutes I realized that it wouldn't work. So I decided to try and use a different computer. After deciding the best course of action was to use a different computer editing went smoothly.  All in all, editing went well after fixing the issues with the software.

Peer Review Blog !

Today my partner and I conducted a  peer review on other members of our class, movie. My partner and I reviewed the opening of their final task. The movie opening was 2 minutes and 53 seconds long. The opening consisted of everything needed for the final task. The movie had all the editing completed as well as the titles. The movie also consisted of the perfected sound as well as other factors. The main aspect of the film that I like was the overall consistency of the movie. To further explain while watching the movie it was obvious to know the plot of the movie. While watching it I could see the trajectory of the movie. Another aspect that I liked was the plot. The reason why I like the plot was that it was easy to grasp, as well as it was an interesting opening. The plot of the movie was a kidnapping. I also really like the effort that was put into demonstrating the kidnapping while leaving some mystery to the movie. The creators of the film do this by alluding to the fact that the highschooler was kidnaped at home by showing a controller on the floor. As well as the dad picking up the controller and the static that played behind the dad. I also really liked the fact they showed the highschooler being put inside the trunk of a car.

Even though I do not have much negative feedback, the other group lacked in some areas. One of the most prevalent criticism is the fact all the required angles were not present in the film. This included camera angles, and shots as well as required editing style. One suggestion that I have is to trim certain scenes to cut the time of the opening. The opening was over 2 minutes and the maximum was two minutes. Another suggestion that I have is to reshoot some scenes because the lighting was too dark unless that was the desired effect. I didn't have much confusion when it came to the film everything was well directed. I certainly like the fact the director and the camera manage to stay hidden in some shots. I really enjoyed watching the said film. All aspects of the film were really interesting. The most interesting was the fact the watcher fail to know why high school kid got kidnaped which created a cliff-hanger. All in all the film was great and inspired me to add things to my film.

Finish Filming Blog !

This past weekend my partner and I finished filming our final task. The filming process that had occurred was productive due to the fact that we finished everything. I acted as the director and my partner acted as the actor. We had another actor play as the other sister in the film. The actor that played that role was my partner's sister. My partner and I filmed near the beach in an alley which is in the storyboard. The process went smoothly because we followed everything that was in the storyboard. It only took my partner and me an hour to finish filming at the location. This is due to the fact that everything was already prepared. This is also due to the fact that the majority of the scenes were filmed at another location. All in all the filming process went well.

However, there were some bumps along the road that pertained to the filming process. One of the main roadblocks was that the battery of the camera was low. This impacted our filming process negatively and positively. To further explain the loss of battery affected our process due to the fact that I couldn't film as many re-shoots as I would have like to. Due to the time crunch that I was on, because of the lack of battery, I  had to hurry up and film all our scenes. This left my partner and me vulnerable to not having a perfect shot. The lack of battery also affected our filming process positively. The lack of battery forced us to really focus on the story that our movie was trying to tell. Another incident that occurred was that we didn't have enough fake blood. This forced us to improvise and only use a small amount. During this process, my partner and I also decided to use scissors instead of a knife. Despite these limitations filming still went smoothly.
