CLAMPS

  • Costume: Dwayne Johnson in the movie is always seen wearing a grey t-shirt and black/grey jeans while his co-star Jason Statham was seen always wearing formal attire to accommodate his characters reputation of a wealthy man. Both of the outfits allow for both to fight easily and move accordingly. The main female actress in the movie Vanessa Kirby was first introduced in a military outfit in the beginning of the movie which later she changes into a more suitable attire that enables her to run fast and fight off the villain who was after her. She is seen wearing a green turtle neck, black jeans, and boots later in the movie. Brixton (Idris Elba) the main villain is seen wearing a black armor throughout the entire movie.
  • Lighting: Most of the low-key lighting of the film was gloomy or dark to indicate all the dangers and fighting that has to happen. At the end of the movie when all of the fighting is done and the main villain Brixton (Idris Elba) has finally died the lighting become bright to show the true final ending when everything is back to normal.
  • Actors: Dwayne Johnson is a physically strong character in the movie as well as intelligent. Jason Statham is also a strong character not in the sense of muscles but in the strategic mindset to defeat Brixton the main villain who is basically a cyborg that can detect their movements before they can even start fighting. He is also very intelligent and loves to argue a lot with his partner Hobbs in the movie which provides a comedic break from all the serious fighting matters. Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) plays the younger sister of Shaw (Jason Statham) and is the living virus because she implanted the virus into herself from the beginning of the movie.
  • Make-up: Most of the make-up in the movie went into the wounds after fighting scenes, blood, and the main female actress Vanessa Kirby and for all of the other side female characters that played a small role in the movie.
  • Props included vehicles since most of duration of the movie included a car chase scene. A lot of guns from different sizes and a helicopter which is only seen near the end of the movie in the final battle in the Island of Kauai.
  • Setting: The most common settings in the movie was the nuclear power plant, the coal-powered plant in Doncaster England in which the stunt team was able to shoot scenes featuring off-road car chase scenes. A lot of the secret lair shots were filmed in Shepperton studios in London. The final setting of the movie was the Hawaiian Island of Kauai to shoot most of Hobb's (Dwayne Johnson) home base of Samoa.

Elements

  • The elements in this movie include a fight scenes, explosions, violent stunts such as the battle scene in the building from the beginning of the movie
  • There is a protagonist which is Hobbs, Shaw, and Hattie and the antagonist which is Brixton.

Elements I Liked

  • What I liked from the movie was that most of my favorite actors were in the movie such as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham which made me excited to watch the movies for the first time in theater.

Elements I Didn't Like

  • What I didn't like about the movie was that the fight scenes all consisted of the same villain Brixton which to me seemed like he was created to be invincible and impossible to defeat which for me dragged on the movie. By the time the ending came I already lost interest of the entire movie.
